Heidi is a caring and empathetic Clinical Psychologist who feels extremely privileged to be able to work with people who are willing to process the difficulties and distress they may be experiencing. Initially trained and working in South Africa, Heidi relocated to Rockhampton in 2007. She spent 13 years working in private practice supporting people living in rural and regional areas. Heidi relocated to Noosa in 2020 and sees people in Noosaville and via videoconference.
Heidi has over 20 years of experience working with individual clients and couples. She has worked with adolescents, adults, and families in both private practice and hospital settings. Heidi works in an evidenced-based and professional manner for a wide variety of clinical presentations. Heidi has special interest areas of working with abuse and all related areas, and with working with people struggling with eating disorders and body image issues.
Heidi has experience in working with people dealing with life transitions, relationship and parenting issues and sexual health. She has a special interest in working with abuse and all related areas, having also worked in a ‘Alternative to Violence’ programme in Canada and South Africa. She is adept at understanding the complexities of abuse and the impact it has on survivors. Another special interest is in working with people struggling with eating disorders and body image issues. She understands the importance of these clients being treated in a multidisciplinary setting and obtaining early intervention. Heidi also has experience of supporting people with chronic health issues. She is familiar with how chronic disease can impact on the mental wellbeing of people. She has supported many people to live their best lives regardless of their physical health situation.
